DIWALI AT SATARA |
Tukavipra completed his
penance at Bor-ban in Saka 1690 and he returned to Brahmapuri.
Chhatrapati Ramraje Bhosle of Satara and Thorle Madhavrao Peshwa
had invited him for celebrating the festival of Diwali in Saka
1691. Tukavipra stayed there for a week. He used to discuss
various topics with the royal family members for whole day and at
night he used to preach people. There is a reference of his
programs of Kirtan in front of Lord Ganesh, royal palace and fort
in 'Abhang Gatha' of 1691.
Tukavipra's aim in visiting Satara was to increase public
awareness. From Kirtans, he gave message to society to forget
personal differences and and give preference to patriotism and
service to the Peshwa throne

TUKAVIPRA’S DISCIPLE |
In
those days Sardar Baburao Purandare was head of special
protection force of Chhatrapati of Satara. He was old and
issueless. He was aware of Tukavipra's spiritual fame. He used to
attend every Kirtan program with his wife to get the blessings of
Saint Tukavipra. Saint Tukavipra came to know of his grievances.
He was sure about his loyalty and devotion of Baburao Purandare.
So he told him to wait till completion of Kirtan.
When all people went out, he called Baburao and said, "Your wish
will be fulfilled but you have to hand over your eldest child to
me. He will be my disciple. Both husband and wife nodded their
heads in yes, without any sort of hesitation in their mind. They
saluted saint Tukavipra with tears of joy in their eyes. Saint
Tukavipra blessed both and saw them off.
